Accessible Toilet Buildings for Aotearoa

Modular, compliant, and ready for remote or urban sites

Creating truly inclusive public places in New Zealand means providing facilities everyone can use—confidently and safely. LooCube™ accessible toilet buildings are purpose-designed for councils, schools, transport authorities, and tourism operators who need dependable, low-maintenance infrastructure that meets New Zealand standards and works on or off the grid.

Built for NZ conditions—and NZ compliance

LooCube™ accessible layouts are designed to comply with NZS 4121:2001 (Design for Access and Mobility) and the NZ Building Code requirements for accessible routes, clearances, handrails, signage, and fixtures. From town centres to DOC-adjacent car parks and roadside rest areas, the buildings are engineered for coastal air, high rainfall, and heavy public use. Internal finishes are smooth and wipe-clean; hardware and fittings are robust and tamper-resistant to reduce maintenance cycles.

Access ramps: Our FRP ramp systems use non-slip fibreglass grating that lets water drain through—reducing puddling and moss growth and improving safety in wet conditions. Ramps are included with accessible packages and are also available as standalone upgrades for other sites.

Off-grid options that keep projects moving

Every site is different. LooCube™ lets you match the building to your available services without compromising accessibility or capacity:

  • Power: solar-powered lighting and controls, or hard-wired where mains is available.
  • Water: rainwater harvesting or tank supply, or connect to town supply where present.
  • Wastewater: waterless composting or low-water systems for remote locations; holding tank, septic, or sewer connections for higher-use urban sites.

This flexibility shortens lead times, simplifies consenting in remote areas, and helps keep lifetime costs predictable.

Fast, predictable installation

LooCube™ arrives as a prefabricated kit-set for efficient assembly on a prepared slab or pile foundation. Because major components are pre-made, there’s less disruption on site and fewer delays waiting for multiple trades. Once the base is ready and services (if any) are in place, typical installations can be completed in a matter of days, then commissioned for public use.

Configurations that scale with demand

Start with what you need now and expand as usage grows. Choose from:

  • Fully accessible cubicles and ambulant cubicles
  • Single or twin units, multi-cubicle blocks, and integrated store/plant rooms
  • Optional showers, baby-change, gear storage, and operational add-ons (auto door closers, durable shelving, vandal-resistant fixtures)

Layouts can be mirrored or joined to suit your site, circulation routes, and CPTED considerations.

Frequently asked questions

Are LooCube™ buildings portable?

They’re designed as permanent, consented buildings assembled on site. If you need a relocatable welfare or response unit for emergency operations, ask about the FlexiCube™ Series.

Do we need special tools or skills to install?

No. Standard construction tools and trades are suitable. WCTNZ® can deliver a full installation service or work alongside your contractor with detailed assembly guidance.

Can we add ramps or accessibility upgrades to an existing facility?

Yes. Our FRP ramps are available as standalone modules for retrofits and accessibility improvements.

How quickly can we go live on a remote site?

With off-grid options (solar, tanks, composting/holding), once the foundation is prepared the building can be erected and commissioned rapidly—ideal for seasonal demand or tourism pinch points.
